How Youngsville began
Youngsville began around 1839 as a settlement called Pacific, on land owned by John “Jack” Young. When the town was incorporated on March 17, 1875, the community took the name Youngsville in Young’s honor, and the town marked 150 years with a Main Street parade and a day-long celebration in May 2025.
A rail line still runs through town today as part of the former Seaboard Coast Line “S-Line,” now operated by CSX. The William A. Jeffreys House was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1976, and the Youngsville History Museum keeps the town’s story for the next generation.
